In the 17th century the region of Troyon in Bulgaria became known for master pottery makers. During this period a pattern of pottery emerged that has now become a staple of what is now called “Traditional Bulgarian Pottery”. Using various colors painted onto red clay, the pottery invokes a drip motif that creates wavy patterns throughout each individual piece.
